Reduction: liposcupture by syringe Ginecomasty: this is the enlargement of the male mamma. The treatment of choice is now liposculpture with syginge. With two little perforations, one on each side of the thorax, we suck off the localized fat excess, trough a little canula, attached to a 60 ml syringe. This treatment may also be made with an incision. It has the inconvenient to leave a perceptible scar on the areola or on the infra-mammary sulcus. Many men feel embarrassed to have developed breasts and they don’t take off their shirts, for instance, on the beach. They also don’t like to show any evidence of an operation on the mammas. The anesthesia may be local or epidural. There is no need to be general. What may go wrong? When the mammary tissue is not sufficiently taken off and some of it still stays apparent. We remind you that the mammary tissue is fatty and can’t be entirely taken off, without the risk to cause depression zones and necrosis (death) of the skin. Once more we remind you that the choice of your surgeon is of fundamental importance. What’s the solution for these problems? After 6 months, the remaining fat can be sucked off again. If there are any depressions, a fat or polimethylacrilate graft may solve the problem. In the remote case of skin necrosis, a skin graft may be done. |
