Axillary reduction mammaplasty

there are many techniques to reduce the mammary gland in three differents vias: axillary, areolar  and mammary. My preference is axillar approach, because avoid any scar on breast, the scars  stay inside in axillar pleats, if developed bad scar keloid or hypertrophic scar proper of the patient, it will be more easy to do one correction  in axilla than on breast . These corrections will be made after six months of post- operatory .  It is very important to say the patient that the scar will be concluded after one year.

 The anaesthesia will be  local, peridural or generally, but the most common is the high peridural  anaesthesia, because  the patient  will have  less  problems  how  vomit in post-operatory and the  patient can return his house  approximately after 8 hours after the surgery.  The quantity of the  anaesthetic is less,  it is only 10cc, in local and generally anaesthesia needs the most  quantity of the anaesthesia.

This treatment will can be made at one hour and forty minutes to two hours surgical time, less than when it is made  in others techniques approximately three hours to breast reduction.

Post-operatory care:

it is very  important  that all  problem the patient  communicate your doctor

Follow up: the doctor needs to see the patient one time a week the first month,  in three after months, one time every month, the next visit will be in six months and  the end will be with one year.

It is necessary avoid  strongs  movements with the arms, after 24 hours the patient can take  shower, take out the bandage and do yours basics activities.

Avoid take  sun, beach and swimming poor bathing , during 60 days. Avoid any trauma in torax and axilla.

Seven days with antibiotictheraphy and antiinflamatory and local ice bags.

Remove the sutures in 10° post operatory day and the conclusion is 15°PO. The patient begin physiotheraphy and local massage, to improve the good follow up.

What will can do mistake?

infction, assymetry it is common to have one side different of the other, bad scars each patient familiar, to be necessary  infection drain or hematoma drain. All these pathologies can   be  made corections, any treatment it is possible made other surgery.

Return the activities:

the final period of the scarring  any surgical treatment  is of the one year, the  edhema stay until one year, but the patient feel the great  reduction of the  quantity of the breast  in the moment  finish the surgery.

The patient can return yours basic functions in the next day of the surgery.
