As we said already and repeat once more, the success of any treatment lays on its correct indication.

We now avoid long incisions, like we used to do before, in the classical technique, cutting almost all the scalp, circulating the skull. Today we operate trough little perforations (by endoscopy) and incisions also very short, in the scalp, which permit to hide the scars under the hair. The scar on the ear is close to the tragus, thus permitting it to be less perceptible.

Indication:

We indicate this surgery only if the flaccidity is severe and the face elasticity is already very damaged. The client can’t suffer of any systemic deceases like anemia, diabetes, etc. First he should treat all his systemic diseases. Only after submitting to a clinic valuation by a cardiologist, is he allowed to be operated. Before any surgery, the patient has to make all lab tests like blood, urine, thorax XR, electrocardiogram, in accordance with his cardiologist

What does this surgery envolve?

We make a rigorous cleaning of the scalp and neck, since the success of any plastic surgery depends on avoiding infection. Cleaning is fundamental.

First we do incisions anterior to the ears. We try to leave the scar exactly close to the lobe of the ear. Sometimes, if it has a pendulum shape, we reduce the lobe.

We detach the skin of the whole face up to the corner of the mouth and the skin of the neck. Then the skin excesses are cut off. To avoid bleeding and a longer duration of the surgery, we use radio frequency, an instrument that cuts and cauterizes the tissue at the same time. We also close more rapidly the open scalp with the help of clamps.

This surgery may be associated to blefaroplasty (eyelid plastic) and rhinoplasty (nose) since the nose, with an elevation of a few millimeters, may provide many years of rejuvenation. We know that, with aging, the nose may grow and fall.
