Academic Information

by the Medicine Faculty of Federal University of Ceara, in 1974.

Registered in the Regional Medicine Council of State of Ceara, Brazil (CREMEC), under the number 1709.

She followed two medical residencies: 

1) Residence in General Surgery, Federal University of Ceara, from 1975 to 1976. 

2) Residence in Plastic Surgery, in the General Hospital of INAMPS (Social Welfare Institution), Fortaleza, Ceara, from 1977 to 1979. On this last residence, there was only one vacancy and Dc. Felicio was accepted after a public contest. 

She was trainee in the Hospital Barata Ribeiro, in Rio de Janeiro, in the Plastic Surgery Clinic, by Dc. Claudio Rebelo, Plastic Surgeon.

She was assistant of Dc. Mario Gonzalez Ulloa, Mexican physician, founder of the International Society of Aesthetic Surgery, ISASPS.

She coordinated his clinic in Mexico City in the period of 1984-1985.

Back in Brazil, she founded her own clinic in her natal city of Fortaleza, in 1989.

Master Degree in Plastic Surgery, in the Surgery Department of Federal University of Ceara.

Author of 3 Surgical Techniques, published in international medical magazines of her specialty: 
Periareolar Reduction Mamaplasty, Plastic Reconstruction Surgery, 88:789, 1991. Intimate Surgery: Revue de Chirurgie Plastic de la Langue Francaise TOME - XVII N.67 Juin, 1992 and Axilary Reduction Mamaplasty: Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 21:270-275 – 1997. (see in Publications) 

Her publications in Annals, Medical Magazines and Books are in number superior to 100.

Dc Yhelda Felicio has a large experience in Emergency Plastic Surgery and made already more than five thousand operations. For the past 25 years she has been staff surgeon in the Emergency Clinic of the Municipal Hospital of Fortaleza.

She is physician of the Health Department of State Ceara, where she was admitted by public contest, being staff surgeon at the Hospital Santa Casa de Misericordia, in Ceara.

Member specialist of the Brazilian Medical Association, in Plastic Surgery.

Full-entitled member specialist of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery.

Full-entitled member of the Iberoamerican Federation of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Honor member of the French Society of Plastic Surgery.

Participant member of the American Society of Aesthetic Surgery.

Full-entitled member of the Brazilian Society of Laser in Medicine and Surgery.

Author of the book “Plastic Surgery intelligible for all”.
